Willian and Chelsea take down Tottenham in latest London Derby

In the latest edition of the London Derby between Chelsea and Tottenham, it was Blues’ winger Willian who completely stole the show at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
Indeed, the Brazilian showed why he’s a true talent, powering the visiting side to a 2-0 win over Jose Mourinho and company. Willian opened the scoring in the 12th minute and he did so with an absolute bang.
On his opening goal, Willian acted quickly on a corner kick and passed the ball to Mateo Kovacic, who then passed the ball right back.
Willian then showcased some neat footwork, made his way into the box and drilled a cracker of a shot past the diving Paulo Gazzaniga, who really had no shot of keeping the ball from hitting the back of the net. It put the visitors up 1-0 much to the dismay of the local supporters.
In stoppage time of the first half, Willian then made things 2-0 on a penalty kick. That PK was given after Gazzaniga brought down Chelsea’s Marcos Alonso with one of the worst tackles you’ll see all season. Willian made Tottenham pay for the costly mistake with a well-executed penalty shot.
“I’m happy of course with the two goals, but the most important thing is always to win the game,” Willian told the press on Sunday. “We did a brilliant job. It was a big win, a big game and everyone is happy.”
On the year, Chelsea now has 10 wins, two draws and six losses, giving them 32 points. They sit in fourth place of the English Premier League standings. Next up is a showdown with Southampton on Dec. 26 for a ‘Boxing Day’ showdown at Stamford Bridge.
