Travis Kelce makes Chiefs fans everywhere happy by announcing he'll return in 2025

Boom! As soon as the 2024 season came to a close for the Kansas City Chiefs, with the team losing to the Eagles in the Super Bowl, reports surfaced that we may have seen Travis Kelce play for the last time. Was he about to retire?

That's not going to happen. On Thursday, Kelce first made the news public when he texted Pat McAfee, who then shared the update with everyone. Then Kelce took to social media to confirm he'll be playing next season for the AFC powerhouse. We don't have to tell you that NFL fans as a whole are pretty fired up over the news.

Travis Kelce won't retire and he'll play for the Kansas City Chiefs in 2025

This is massive news not only for Kansas City, but for quarterback Patrick Mahomes too. Kelce will go down in history as one of the best tight ends of all time. The hope was that he'd help KC three-peat, but the team fell short of that goal.

Due to that loss against the Eagles in the Super Bowl, Kelce has been left with a bad taste in his mouth. Moving forward, he's going to be motivated to try and close out his career in style by capturing another ring.

The Chiefs were brilliant in 2024 and it looked like they were going to make some NFL history. However, the Eagles, Jalen Hurts and Saquon Barkley had other ideas, putting together a dominant performance in New Orleans to upset the Chiefs.

Kelce had a bit of a rough game, with some first-half drops sticking out. Once next season gets here, however, No. 87 is going to be ready to do everything in his power to remind everyone of why he's a future Hall of Famer.

Thus far in his playing days, Kelce has won three Super Bowls and posted 1,004 receptions for 12,151 yards and 77 touchdowns. Those are the type of numbers that will one day get him to Canton. Before he retires, he'll be playing at least one more season and he'll be ready to make a ton of noise in '25.
