5 reasons Liverpool will win the Premier League this season

With the English Premier League at the halfway point for the 2023/24 campaign, there have been plenty of surprises. Who would have thought Aston Villa would be in second, while Manchester United is stuck in eighth?
In another bit of a stunner, Liverpool FC, which finished outside of the Top 4 last season, is currently in first place. Fans are dreaming of the Reds winning the league. From our chair, here are five reasons why they'll be able to get the job done:
5. Liverpool is playing with a ton of confidence
To start, Liverpool indeed is playing with a ton of confidence and swagger right now. In their last five games, LFC has not suffered a loss, posting three victories and two draws. They're the only EPL team who hasn't lost a game in the past five meetings.
Not only that, but Liverpool is at the top of the table with 45 points. Villa is right behind them at 42 points, while Manchester City is in third with 40 points (they have a game in hand). If Liverpool keeps playing like this, they're going to be tough to take down whenever they're on the pitch.
4. Arsenal is on a cold streak and seemingly out of the race
What in the world has happened to the Gunners? Just about a month ago, Mikel Arteta and Co. were looked at as serious threats to win the league and silence all of their haters out there. However, it's been a rough stretch for the North London side.
In their last five games, Arsenal has one victory, one draw and three losses. Because of that, they've now fallen down to fourth place in the table. Arsenal still has plenty of time to turn things around, but Liverpool is looking miles ahead of them.
3. Mo Salah is back to playing his best for Liverpool FC
This is the Mo Salah that people at Anfield love to see. Salah has been looking like a machine for LFC this season and the stats back that up. In 20 EPL games this campaign, Salah has posted 14 goals.
That's simply out of this world and his beautiful left foot is proving to be gold once again. Salah is tied for first place in goals scored in the EPL with Erling Haaland. It will be a tight race the rest of the way, but something tells us Salah will come out on top.
2. Liverpool's midfield issues seem to have been fixed
There was panic among the fanbase this summer when the Moises Caicedo transfer flopped. Caicedo ended up joining Chelsea, but that hasn't gone according to plan for the Ecuadorian. LFC had issues in the midfield, but the group in the middle of the pitch is starting to gel.
The addition of Dominik Szoboszlai has been tremendous, while Endo and Alexis Mac Allister are starting to find their footing. Can you imagine how great things will be when Thiago Alcantara is back to full strength? It's only going to help out on both offense and defense.
1. Liverpool keeps coming out on top of close games
How many times this campaign in the Premier League or other competitions have we seen Liverpool go down early on? Then, this team fights their way back to capture all three points. Remember the amazing comeback win over Newcastle when they were down to 10 men? Of course you do.
Last time Liverpool and Newcastle met this season, Darwin Nunez scored twice after coming on in the 77th minute to take all three points for 10-man Liverpool. 🔴 #LFC pic.twitter.com/dZxdro4uXh

There's a winning DNA for this team and you've got to give a ton of credit to manager Jurgen Klopp. Liverpool could be down two goals, but they'll have the confidence in still posting a memorable win. This will be the case the rest of the season - and it could prove to be a league-winning year for Liverpool.
