Mahomes and KC will be back.

Patrick Mahomes promises Chiefs will 'be back' after Super Bowl loss

The dream season didn't end the way the Kansas City Chiefs and Patrick Mahomes were hoping it would. On Sunday night, KC had a chance to make NFL history, but the team's bid to post the first three-peat ever fell short.

In the end, the Eagles and Jalen Hurts, who was named the Super Bowl MVP, were able to post a 40-22 win over the Chiefs. While this loss is going to sting for Mahomes, it doesn't take away from what he, Travis Kelce and the rest of the KC stars were able to get done this campaign.

Mahomes was once again brilliant this year, helping the Chiefs win the AFC West and earn the No. 1 seed for the postseason. Memorable wins were posted, including against the Bills in the AFC title game. While Mahomes is a little sad now, he wasted no time in assuring the KC faithful that this team will be ready to bounce back sooner rather than later.

Patrick Mahomes is motivated to get back to the Super Bowl soon

With the Lombardi Trophy on the line, Mahomes posted 257 passing yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions. Unfortunately for the superstar signal-caller, the offensive line couldn't keep the Philly pass-rush from getting to Mahomes throughout the night.

Following the loss, there's plenty of focus on Kelce too, as it's up in the air if he's going to retire or decide to come back for one more season. Could he be motivated to play one more year and end his career the right way? That's what fans are hoping for.

As for Mahomes, he has three Super Bowl rings to his name - this was his fifth SB appearance for KC. With him still being in the prime of his career, there's no question in our mind that he's going to have the Chiefs back in the big game down the road. With how much of a competitor he is, this loss to the Eagles is going to drive Mahomes and push him to reach a level we haven't seen out of him before.

That's bad news for the rest of the NFL. The Eagles were the ones celebrating this Super Bowl win in New Orleans, which is a bummer for everyone in Kansas City. Mahomes said that he let fans down with his performance, but that couldn't be further from the truth.

Yes, losing the title game was not what anyone wanted to see, but it doesn't wipe away all of the incredible accomplishments Mahomes has recorded as the leader for this team and offense. This is a minor setback for what's sure to be a major comeback. The Mahomes haters are enjoying this now, but they won't be able to be on a high for long. Mahomes will be back, and so will the KC Chiefs.
