While the Philadelphia Eagles will try and prevent that from happening, countless Chiefs supporters strongly believe KC will be able to come out on top. Before that showdown, though, Mahomes is fully expected to be named NFL MVP on Thursday night.
Mahomes is the heavy favorite to hear his name called during the 12th annual NFL Honors ceremony. This will bet yet another incredible achievement for the superstar signal-caller.

Patrick Mahomes hoping to win MVP No. 2 for the Chiefs
Should things go as planned, this will be Mahomes' second MVP award, as he won it back in 2018. That season, Mahomes was downright electric and then the year after, he helped the Chiefs win their first Super Bowl in 50 years.
Believe it or not, the Chiefs have been to the Super Bowl in three of the last four seasons. They beat the 49ers in February of 2020, lost to the Bucs in 2021 and now they're hoping to capture the glory against the Eagles this weekend.
During the regular season, Mahomes put up video game-type numbers, throwing for 5,250 yards and 41 touchdowns, both tops in the NFL. Then in the playoffs, Mahomes has looked just as strong, taking down the Jaguars in the Divisional Round and then the Bengals in the AFC Championship Game.
Thanks to his brilliant play, Chiefs supporters are dreaming of another title for this team. Before that comes, Mahomes should and will be named MVP. He's earned this and not even his biggest of haters can try and bash him.
Mahomes' week will only get better if he wins another Super Bowl on Sunday. Millions of eyes will be on him vs. the Eagles. He'll be ready to rise to the occasion.
