Thus far in the first two games of the Champions League for Pep Guardiola's men, it has been nothing but smooth sailings for Manchester City. After cruising to a big win in the tournament-opener, Manchester City FC followed that up with a 3-0 win on Tuesday night.
In the victory, the English Premier League powers wasted no time in jumping out to a quick lead. They truly never looked back, as Marseille simply had no answer in trying to stop them.

In the 18th minute of Tuesday's action, Ferran Torres opened the scoring for City with a classy finish. At halftime, the score was 1-0 in favor of Guardiola's men. Then in the second half, City kept on pushing and advanced their lead to 2-0 in the 76th minute thanks to a goal from Ilkay Gundogan.
Then in the 81st minute, the one and only Raheem Sterling put the finishing touches on Marseille, finding the back of the net himself to close the scoring at 3-0.
With that win, City is now a perfect 2-for-2 in its Champions League games, sitting at the top of the Group D table with six points and its goal differential of five.
While the EPL season hasn't quite gone smoothly for MCFC, they've made easy work in its Champions League showdowns. This is tremendous news for Guardiola, as his side is also staying healthy at the same time.
Looking ahead, Manchester City will have an English Premier League game on Saturday against Sheffield United. After that, they'll return to Champions League action with a home showdown at the Etihad Stadium against Olympiacos next Tuesday night.
With their brilliant start in the Champions League, Man City is the favorite to win Group D and book a place into the knockout stages with complete and total ease. Could this be the year where they win the tournament? We can't wait to find out.
