Phil Foden and Man City are looking unstoppable.

Manchester City breaks Champions League record previously held by Man United

Stop us if you've heard this before, but Manchester City is flying high in the Champions League. In three games this campaign, the English Premier League powerhouse has posted two wins and one draw for seven points.

In their latest win on Wednesday, Pep Guardiola and Co. hosted Sparta Praha and this was a complete and total domination from start to finish. In the end, MCFC posted a thrilling 5-0 win, sending a statement to the other teams in the competition.

Not only that, but City recorded some pretty awesome history too. With the victory, Manchester City is now unbeaten in 26 consecutive Champions League contests, which has broken the previous record set by rivals Manchester United. This is an unreal feat for the reigning EPL champs.

Manchester City is now unbeaten in 26 straight Champions League matches

Not only that, but Man City are the favorites to win the CL title this year. Should they get that job done, it'd mark the club's second Champions League triumph in the past three years. City captured the glory in 2023, but unfortunately couldn't repeat last year.

As you might remember, City lost to Real Madrid at the Etihad in a penalty shootout last year. However, that defeat doesn't count as a loss toward the unbeaten streak, as it came in extra time and not during the original 90 minutes of action. Because of that, City's new record has been achieved.

In the victory on Wednesday, Erling Haaland, as you might have been able to guess, powered things for Guardiola with two goals. He wasn't the only one to find the back of the net, though, as Phil Foden, John Stones and Matheus Nunes also scored.

Things are only made better for City, as they're also in the hunt to win the Premier League. The squad has won the title an epic four years in a row and now they're looking to bring in their fifth championship in a row.

Things could not be going better for Guardiola and it's already looking to be another memorable campaign for his squad. They're proving to be nearly impossible to beat, which is fantastic to see.
