With the winter inching closer and closer, this means that soccer fans across the world are getting mentally ready for the next transfer window to get here. That's right, the January transfer window figures to provide plenty of intrigue this season.
One player in particular who could be ready to find a new home is Frenkie de Jong. The sensational midfielder hasn't been as electrifying as expected in Catalonia for Barcelona, but he's still a world-class talent.
He's definitely caught the eye of Pep Guardiola too. With that said, could a move to the Etihad Stadium and Manchester City be on the way?
🚨 Barcelona are ready to let Frenkie de Jong leave the Nou Camp for £75m in January, with Manchester City touted as a possible destination.

This would really be something. I mean, is it even possible for Man City's attack to get every stronger? They added winger Jack Grealish on a record fee over the summer and they already feature a guy by the name of Kevin De Bruyne.
De Bruyne is without question one of the best midfielders in the world, as his passing is nothing short of sublime. Now, de Jong could potentially join Man City too, which would be horrible news for the rest of the English Premier League.
With the international break now in the rearview mirror, EPL action is all set to return this weekend. Entering play, Manchester City is currently in second place of the table behind No. 1 Chelsea.
However, MCFC really looks poised to go on another serious run. Should they win the title this spring, it'd be their fourth league trophy in the past five seasons. This is simply wild to think about.
City might end up being aggressive before the January transfer window deadline arrives. Landing de Jong would be a massive get. Stay tuned to see if that ends up happening, City fans.
