Joe Burrow contract talks with the Bengals could finalize soon

When you bring up the best quarterbacks in the NFL, there's no doubt that Joe Burrow is on the list. Yes, Patrick Mahomes may be the reigning MVP and Super Bowl MVP, but Joey B has ice in his veins too.

With that said, Mahomes has a mega-deal to his name and Burrow is still waiting for his payday. This is something that Bengals fans have been following closely for quite some time. Will a resolution arrive before Cincy kicks off training camp?

Joe Burrow deserves a massive extension from the Bengals 

What's holding up things? The way the quarterback market has been set, the Bengals want to make sure they get things done right here. From our chair, Burrow could become the top-paid signal-caller in the game. 

As things stand, Lamar Jackson is the highest-paid QB, as he put the pen to paper on a five-year deal worth $260 million. That's a contract worth $52 million a year. Also, Jackson received $185 million in guaranteed money.

Something similar to this could be more than enough for Burrow. Anything less than $50 million per season won't even be considered by his reps. Don't forget that Jalen Hurts is earning $51 million per campaign. 

Burrow, a former No. 1 overall pick, has lived up to the hype for the Bengals. In February of 2022, he almost powered the AFC North side to a Super Bowl win, but they lost a heartbreaker to the Los Angeles Rams. 

Then last season, Burrow and the Bengals nearly booked a return trip to the Super Bowl, but they fell to Mahomes and the Chiefs in the AFC Championship Game. Burrow is world class and he needs to be paid like it. A new contract for him could be arriving soon enough.
