The future of legendary PSG forward Edinson Cavani remains up in the air. With his contract in France ending at the end of this current season, it's unlikely he'll be returning to the Parc des Princes.
With rumors swirling Atletico Madrid is his likely destination, we'll have to wait and see where the Uruguayan native ends up. However, per Goal.com, the chances of Cavani returning to play close to home in South America are slim to none.

Indeed, per Goal, Brazilian power Flamengo reached out to Cavani in the winter to gauge his interest, but he let the club know he wants to keep playing in Europe. Now 33, Cavani is entering the final stages of his brilliant career.
However, despite his age, he can no question still be a tremendous striking option for a big-time team. That's why Atletico Madrid wants to do everything possible to get him to Spain for next season. Unfortunately for PSG fans, it's unlikely they'll be seeing him in the club's kit past this campaign.
When Cavani does leave, he'll go down as one of the best players in both PSG and Ligue 1 history. Earlier this year, Cavani became the first Paris Saint-Germain player to score 200 goals with the club. That's simply unheard of.
We'll see where Cavani ends up playing next, but he'll forever be part of the PSG family, that's for sure.
