Last year in the postseason, the Eagles suffered a Wild Card Round loss to Baker Mayfield and the Bucs, which not a lot of people saw coming. However, Hurts has used that as motivation, with his team one win away from capturing the second Lombardi Trophy in franchise history.
Will Hurts and Co. get the job done? In a new interview, he said he knew from the start of the campaign that Philly could push for the title, while he also made it clear that it has taken every guy on the 53-man roster to get to this point.
Jalen Hurts has always dreamed of winning the Super Bowl
“That’s the nature of it," Hurts said. "Don’t get lost in the nature of what a team sport is. It takes a team to go out there and have success. It’s looked a ton of different ways but any team that has success looks a ton of different ways. Just put our focus on winning."
This is the second time Hurts will be starting in the Super Bowl for Philly, as the Eagles lost to the Chiefs in 2023, 38-35. That was a heartbreaking loss for Hurts and the Eagles, one that surely has plenty of people talking leading up to next week's rematch.
The good news for Hurts and Nick Sirianni is that some major help has been added on offense this year. Yes, we're talking about superstar running back Saquon Barkley, who posted more than 2,000 rushing yards in 2024.
In the NFC Championship Game against the Commanders, Barkley rushed for 118 yards and three touchdowns. His long TD run on the opening offensive play of the game vs. the Eagles was the textbook definition of electric.
Now, Barkley and Hurts are both hoping to win the Super Bowl for the first time in their careers. Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and the rest of the Chiefs will be ready to prevent that from happening. Which side will come out on top? Fans all over the globe can't wait to find out.
