Per The Athletic, Tuchel met with club captain Cesar Azpilicueta, N'Golo Kante and multiple others to get their take on the situation. The general consensus inside the locker room is that the players are siding with Tuchel over Lukaku.
Tuchel made the tough, but expected decision in dropping Lukaku from the lineup on Sunday for the showdown with Liverpool. Despite all of the issues surrounding the club, the Blues were able to record a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge.
While Liverpool jumped out to a 2-0 lead, Chelsea was able to fight back and even up the score ahead of halftime. Even without Big Rom out on the pitch, Chelsea was able to showcase while they still have hopes of making things interesting late in the EPL title race.
Chelsea has come out and said that it won't be selling Lukaku during the January Transfer Window, but it has been made quite clear that there's tension here. Lukaku needs to get on the same page with Tuchel and the rest of his teammates as soon as possible.
