Chelsea FC takes down Bayern Munich in the 2012 Champions League Final
What a heart-stopping game this was for Chelsea, as it looked like they were going to lose to Bayern Munich in the Champions League Final. The Chelsea FC news seemed to be written, with Bayern taking a 1-0 lead late in the second half thanks to a Thomas Mueller header.
However, Chelsea legend Didier Drogba saved the day with an incredible header himself to even the score and force extra time. This match had even more drama than a Chelsea vs. Liverpool showdown, with both teams giving everything they had to win.
Bayern even had a penalty to try and win things, but Arjen Robben's shot was brilliantly saved by Petr Cech. Then in the penalty shootout to decide things, Drogba's shot (4-3) went into the back of the net to seal the incredible win for Chelsea. Fans went nuts and rightfully so. This is a Chelsea game they'll never forget, with the Blues winning it for the first time.
Chelsea takes down Manchester City in a comeback thriller at the Etihad
Deciding between the win over Manchester City and Barcelona was a tough one, but we're going with the stunning win at the Etihad Stadium at No. 2 on our list. Surely Man City fans will want to forget this loss, while Chelsea fans are probably still celebrating it.
In early December of 2016, Chelsea vs. Manchester City was the showdown everyone in England had their eyes on, with Chelsea FC looking to jump to the top of the table. At the end of the first half, an unfortunate own goal seemed to put a black eye on the Chelsea schedule. However, things changed in the second half.
Diego Costa evened things up in the 60th minute, while Willian gave the Blues a 2-1 lead on a tremendous counter-attack. Then, Eden Hazard put the nail in the coffin with a fantastic finish himself to close the scoring at 3-1. With the win, Chelsea rose to the top of the English Premier League table. A little over five months later, they were crowned the league champs under Antonio Conte.
Chelsea stuns Barcelona at the Nou Camp in 2012 Champions League semis
El Nino Torres! This might be one of the more dramatic wins in Chelsea history, period. Taking a 1-0 lead over Barcelona back to the Nou Camp in the 2011-12 Champions League, the Blues found themselves down 2-1 on aggregate against FC Barcelona in Spain.
They surprisingly then evened the aggregate up at 2-2, putting Barcelona on the brink of elimination from the tournament. After Lionel Messi hit the post twice, including once on a penalty kick, Chelsea truly was hanging on for dear life. A Chelsea vs. Arsenal showdown didn't even compare to what was going on in Catalonia.
In the 91st minute, Fernando Torres sealed Chelsea's trip to the Champions League Final with his unforgettable goal. Torres and Chelsea broke Barcelona hearts that night. In the final, Chelsea of course went on to beat Bayern Munich.
Chelsea defeats Arsenal in the 2019 Europa League Final
This was a special win for Chelsea for multiple reasons. No. 1, winning a major European competition is always going to be incredible. No. 2, nothing beats being able to do it over one of your biggest EPL rivals. That's what we had in the 2019 Europa League Final between Chelsea FC and Arsenal FC.
Chelsea dominated this one, with the Blues coming away with a 4-1 victory. As incredibly happy as the supporters were for the W, there was also some heartbreak after the final whistle too.
Following the win, Eden Hazard confirmed in an interview that the Europa League Final was his last game with Chelsea. He of course went on to sign and star for Real Madrid. He'll always be loved by the Chelsea FC fans, though, as he became a standout during his time at Stamford Bridge.
Chelsea and Everton battle it out in a nine-goal showdown
Near the start of the 2014-15 campaign, Everton and Chelsea faced off in Liverpool and it was no question one of the best games of the season. Just how good was it?
The two teams went on to combine for nine goals.. NINE! Chelsea showed its class, though, leaving the stadium with a 6-3 win. Diego Costa once again proved his dominance in the EPL in that match, having himself an incredible game.
Chelsea of course went on to win the league title that season as well under former boss Jose Mourinho, who is now the manager at Tottenham.
Steven Gerrard slips and Chelsea puts a dent in Liverpool's league title hopes
You thought we were going to forget about the 2014 Chelsea vs. Liverpool matchup at Anfield? Not a chance. In this game, Liverpool was looking to get a huge win in its chase of its first league title since the 1989-90 season. However, the Blues had other ideas, leaving Liverpool with a 2-0 win.
Demba Ba scored in the first half after LFC legend Steven Gerrard slipped and opened the door for Ba to fly down the field to blast the ball into the net. As hard as LFC tried to even things up, they couldn't, and a Willian goal late in the second half sealed the Chelsea win.
Liverpool then let a three-goal lead slip away against Crystal Palace in shocking fashion. There was no league title for Liverpool that year, only adding to the dismay for fans. Chelsea played a big role in that.
